THYRAGE is a EC funded H2020 research project that will investigate the effects of thyroid hormone on a wide range of age-related diseases, including osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, neurological disorders and sarcopenia. Knowledge generated in this innovative project is needed to develop new strategies to prevent and treat these diseases in the elderly.

11th Annual Meeting of the Italian Thyroid Association

From November 30th to December 2nd, THYRAGE investigators (Monica Dentice, Cristina Luongo and Domenico Salvatore) attended the 11th annual meeting of the Italian Thyroid Association (AIT) in Turin, Italy.

The meeting comprised of seven symposia covering translational research in thyroidology. On November 30th, an invited lecture on pregnancy and thyroid (dys)function was given by Robin Peeters (Rotterdam). On December 1st, the latest clinical updates on treatment of thyroid disorders were shared. On the last day, December 2nd, Monica Dentice and Cristina Luongo gave presentations at the symposium on “Thyroid Hormones and Stem Cells”, which was chaired by Domenico Salvatore.

We are looking back at a successful meeting, giving an excellent overview of the current thyroid research.
